What You Will Not Find Here

January 5, 2012

This writing is not about the news. This writing does not make the news. People sometimes say: Michele, you really should write about something happening in the world. Ha! I could, and I will, somewhere else, another day, but not here. This little picnic blanket I’ve laid down in the great plains of cyberspace, this is for the quiet and trivial. This space is a repository is for the darling, sad, amusing, heartbreaking things that happen on a more intimate stage. OK, I’m telling the story but you know as well as I do it could have happened to you. Example: have you not had miniature cow envy?  Here’s the little fella I would love to see running around my backyard. Fat chance, I know. The zoning. BTW, his name is Raindrop. I’ll take him over any CNN broadcast, any day. This all you need to know: the world is heading to hell in a hand-basket and Raindrop is coming with me.

girlwalksin is and will ever be a refuge from the news. You’re welcome 🙂

Christopher Hitchens listed as the four most overrated things ever to be champagne, lobster, anal sex and picnics. But of course mentioning it here might throw you into the “news” camp, sorry!

Even if you never use your wonder-full writing to comment anywhere on events of the wider world, there’ll be more than enough people taking that job. You and Raindrop go, girls!

The alternative view, something uplifting or thought provoking. I appreciate those views.

love the metaphor of the blanket
spread out here in blog country.

let a little “Raindrop” fall, it won’t spoil the picnic.
